Our website is up! And because of this, we are looking for contributors who want to write for us.
Does this sound like you? Here’s what we need:
- Are you a book lover and passionate about writing? You should definitely message us!
- If you can write with a sense of humor, be up-to-date with the newest books on sale, books to be published, and are willing to go the extra mile to give informative topics to our readers about books and other bookish-related, we will welcome you to our team.
- If you have endless ideas that you want to share with our fellow bookworms can commit to writing at least two posts a month, you are good to go.
What we are looking for in contributors are smart, fun, and engaging topics that will pique the curiosity of our readers. We know that you have some amazing ideas that are simply waiting to be shared which is why we are offering a venue for you to unleash your bookish desires.
Some things to consider before submitting your post:
- You can actually write anything under the sun as long as it is related to books and reading. Your post should be 500-650 words and can be sci-fi/fantasy, horror, biographies, mystery/thriller, you name it, we will accept it.
- All articles will be reviewed before posting so give us your best. We will edit your work for content and clarity but we will preserve your voice. We will give you a heads up on edits before publishing it. Students are very much welcome to write for us.
- If you are submitting book reviews, please attach a clear and creative photo of the book, preferably your own, and your profile picture to go with your account.
- Please submit your post as a Google document. That means, creating your post as a Google Doc. If you’ve never shared a Google Doc before, here’s how to do it. (Please give us editing power.) Add your name, email, or website, your three-sentence bio, and your social media links to the top of your post.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you pay? We compensate our contributors for the effort and the ideas that they are sharing with us. If your application is accepted, we will give you more details. We required having a Gcash Account, or BDO account to transfer the payment. We cannot accept your articles if you don’t have the following mode of payment.
- Can I repost my submission on my blog? You cannot republish the articles on your own blog or any other website. We don’t want Google to give us duplicate content penalties. If we publish your post on Porch Reader Philippines, we retain the rights to that content. If we decide that your post it’s not a strong fit for our blog, you are then free to publish it elsewhere.
- What should I do after I submit my post? When it is published, we hope you’ll be active in responding to readers’ thoughts. Please share and post it on social media too!
And, if you have a blog, or a BookChannel even, please feel free to share it with us. This way, we will know that you are willing to create quality content that others will enjoy reading.
