WORD WONDER: A Book++ Bazaar

In the era of technology today, the habit of reading a book is already dying. The rise of e-books and e-readers posed a significant threat to booksellers and publishers as forecasted by the leading tech guru. But contrary to all their predictions the printed book is still thriving. We cannot deny that the hit was massive to printed book sales but in recent years, evidence shows that the sales of e-readers flattened. Hooray to that!

And this time of year when book bazaars and book fairs organizers are getting ready for Ber months, Word Wonder in partnerships of Bazaar Pilipinas, The Big Difference Communications, Book Ends, Century City Mall and The Reading Room is coming this August 31, 2018, to September 2, 2018, which will be held at 4th and 5th floors Events Center in Century City Mall.

If you love books (who doesn’t), this event is an excellent day for you because you can score on-hand books at lower prices. We are expecting over 10,000 books, comics, and magazines that are going to be sold on the 3-day span of the event.  Not to mention all the cute bookmarks (we love Kawaii bookmarks), stickers, postcards, posters and literary-themed art and crafts from all the awesome sellers and amazing artists that are joining the event.

This event is a free entrance, pet-friendly & eco-conscious event, where you need to bring your eco-bags to put all the books and other literary items that you are going to buy for the day. Please avoid bringing plastic bags as much as you can.  And also, there will be lots of giveaways, free books, gift items and raffle prizes that will be awarded to the lucky winners. Don’t forget to visit our booth, too. We will be selling books that will ignite your passion in different genres like mysteries and thrillers, classics, literary fictions and many more. We will also sell children’s books from the author of Where did all the fireflies go?, Renee Juliene Karunungan and the author of Bantay, the cat who wants to be a dog, Alvin Gale Tan. We will also sell  Pat Mallari‘s book D BALI – Dapa, Bangon, Lipad, a great and excellent read to all Millenials out there.

Our experiences in book fairs and book bazaars made us come back again and again in selling and reading books. Why? Because as a lover of books, you can feel right away that this kind of event is a reader’s paradise. You can see all sorts of people, no matter how old or young, are all connected to books. The books matter, not only to us but to them as well. Whether we read for pleasure, escape from reality, learning, or busy participating in the outside world, books are a constant thread that will always bind us together.

And because of this, we see books remain relevant as one of the most effective ways we can use to communicate ourselves, connect to share stories, ideas, and enthusiasm for the written word.
