It’s almost been a year now but our second time to join their latagan was yet another fun-filled day for me and my relatives who were kind enough to help us out.
As usual, we arrived early at the First United Building where we, along with other sellers, we’re going to set up shop for the day. Hungry but excited, my dad and my sister helped me set up our booth. This time, we were armed with a small table which we used to showcase some of our favorite hardbound books and the newest addition to our book babies. The rest were placed in a box while the children’s books were displayed near the front of the booth. Yes, we loved how our little space looked like, and we were eager to start selling.
The day started nice enough for us with other sellers approaching our booth, checking out our wares. We got to chat with them too, and some remarked on our handmade bookmarks too (yey!), plus the books that we had on sale. The customers soon started to come, and all hands were on deck, even my dad, who looked happy enough to sell our wares too.
During the lull on this quite busy day, I was able to go around to check what the rest of the sellers at 98B Saturday Future Market had to offer and I was pleasantly surprised that there were quite a lot of excellent people selling their crafts here.
First, there was Harpoon Co. whom I had met in our first latagan, who were selling custom bags that may be pricey but well worth the money that you’ll be spending because their bags looked like they could last a lifetime.
Second, Blanco Quaderno‘s notebooks and artworks were mesmerizing.
Third, Flora+Fauna (my personal favorite) who were selling wood prints. Their items are for pre-order, but they have some samples in their booth that captured everyone’s eyes. Aside from the wood prints, they also have stickers, notebooks, and pouches with exciting artworks so yes, goodbye money for me.
The fourth seller that I checked out was Irvin’s Doodle Sheet. Their products are just perfect for those who love to doodle because you can get their sheets at affordable prices. They also had some doodle stickers up for grabs.
My feet brought me to the fifth seller on my list which was Artshop Unlimited. Artshop Unlimited’s booth where I found some funny stickers, bookmarks, and even waterproof letter hang. Looking at their products further, I saw some fantastic art pieces that were converted into postcards and paintings. You should have been there to see how talented the artist was.
Who would have thought that I will meet an old friend in Saturday Future Market? Berto’s Art, who was part of Artshop Unlimited’s booth, was a friend of mine back in high school and he was one of the talented artists back then. It’s good to see him selling his artworks which were just astounding.
Of course, my latagan experience won’t be complete without a stop at one of my favorite sellers, Surprises Out of Boxes. Ate Ten was quite welcoming and I couldn’t help myself after seeing Calvin and Hobbes among her books. I just had to buy it for my collection! She dropped by our booth too which was nice. Booksellers unite!
The eighth seller that is definitely worth talking about is Legabutina Art. I met Sir Gabutina last October, and I was just blown away by his digital and hand drawn paintings. I got one of his works with me as it called to me a mile away. He even signed it for me which was just awesome. He was pleasant to talk with, and I even introduced him to my dad who also loved his artwork. If ever you get the chance to check his work, I’m sure you will be impressed too.
1372 designs was our neighbor at the fair, and they were selling customized notebooks and journals. They’re now a regular in Escolta’s landscape so do check their stuff out when you’re within the area. You can’t beat having handmade notebooks, you know?
Opposite our booth was Forever Ugly who sells custom bags with witty texts like “Atom Araullo Pregnancy Club” and “Be like a Butanding, Big but Photogenic”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1442″ img_size=”751 x 500″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]To our left was Teacup Ideas who were selling their own coloring book. I have to say that I just love the creativity here. And the sellers were really nice too.
Art of Ayeza was back too, and her postcards, bags, and art prints are truly one of a kind. She’s just a great artist, and I believe that she is conducting seminars nowadays in different cafes and bookstores. I do hope you check her out when you have the chance.
It seems that notebooks and journals abound in this market with Sketchnotes giving their own twist to this product. From plain to stylish journals, throw in some colorfully done stickers, and you would probably get your diary ready in no time.
The last one on our list was Splite. They were new in latagan, but you can see some interestingly done artworks for sale.
98B Saturday Future Market has done it again. They had pulled off another successful Saturday Future Market, and we were just happy that we got to be a part of it once more. The vibe here was amazing, the sellers lending their personal touch to their booth space, and the customers looked that they enjoyed their loot. I, for one, am happy with I brought home with me aside from the enjoyable memories here.
Thank you 98B Saturday Future Market! And to those who bought our books, thank you and hope to see you in the future.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
